Dark Country is an alternate history, where the supernatural is often unspoken and the auspicious are everywhere. Outlaw, the main character is a lone man who keeps to the lands traditions. He has his own tabooes and rituals, often aware of the dangers he treks in his day to day life. One day just a few days before winter, a group of riders from town rolls in seeking a missing persons, they find no clues but ask to stay the night in the clearing. Outlaw doesn't mind but they must follow the rules, when they don't things go haywire amd he decides to start his journey early, a start to the events of the story ahead. This book is18 chapters. It is a slowish burn iv kept as much to the pace throughout, it may speed up or slow a little. It is the first in the series.
